How do you suggest applying it? I read on the directions to rub with a cloth but that seems kinda dangerous to me.

The long sloooooooow way is to soak it in olive oil.
And periodically use a Q-Tip to carefully nudge some of verdigris away.
You're talking months to complete the process.

I have tried applying it different ways. If you use the cloth method only use a microfiber towel. I have put it on the cloth and gently rubbed it. Other time rubbing the coin to cloth. I have put it on the surface and let it soak for 5 up to 30 minutes. I have used a Q tip effectively. I like the microfiber cloth really well. I used a thorn to lightly poke at the verdigris after soaking 30 min. That worked well.

I think I'm gonna do the 30 minute soak and prod any stubborn spots with the thorn and then follow that up with a very, very light massaging with the microfiber cloth. I'll post pictures of the results. Thanks for all the info!

Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out, it's already a great coin, but I imagine it will be a stunner of a little sister after the Verdi-Care treatment.

Little weakness on the obverse strike. Base grade at XF45 but a couple scratches on both sides and what appears to a rim bump near the date could net it down maybe to 40. Interested to see how it turns out. I like the rich color

So, I ordered my Verdi-Care straight from BadThad on ebay as opposed to through wizard coin supply because he offered a coin-safe cloth and wizard was out. I actually found him by accident, but anyways I ordered it super early on Saturday morning and he shipped it out that day. Now, I will get my verdi-care either today or tomorrow and I am excited to try it out. I will be posting results in the next couple days of this Half Cent and a couple other coins.

If you see this BadThad, thanks a lot. You know how to make a customer happy.

Nice coin!
I would start with an acetone soak and then a verdicare soak overnight. Definitely use the microfiber.
Try the Verdi care on a low end Lincoln first for confidence:)
Follow Badthads directions. I have had good results with verdicare. Look foreward to seeing the results!

I used water and then acetone first. I decided to only let them soak for 40 minutes because there wasn't much verdigris and BadThad's directions didn't call for a lot of time. I will post results tomorrow after they dry! :)

So, the coin looks so much better. I wish my scanner would pick it up, but the scanner actually made the coin look worse. I will try to use my friends camera in the next couple of days to show the results. Nearly all of the verdigris is gone and the coin looks beautiful in hand.

Now what are your plans of a place to keep that one? Are you putting those in an Album? Or in a 2x2 flip? Or what?
