Do you all think it would be seen as a cool novelty if I decide to sell it in the future?

Id agree its better off being fixed. The novelty ones that seem to get attention would be the rare matching set where each coin was put in the holder for the other one.

So you don't have the coin yet? Playing devil's advocate here a little but perhaps the person that listed posted the wrong picture for the reverse?

No ..... scanned the barcode with my nifty NGC smartphone coin scanner and it is the right reverse, just the wrong mint mark.

Get you one of those label makers and "correct" the misidentification.

All of this is good news I have an unsearched bank roll of uncirculated 1916-D Mercury dimes. They forgot to put the mintmark on them in Denver, but now I know that NGC will authenticate them correctly

Take one C and add the other C to the botttom of that, only reversing it, and you get an S.
Therefore it was not an error by NGC, it was a possibility situation.
For sure I'd keep it the way it is.

Legally NGC can come after you for profiting off of a mis labeled coin. You should contact them resubmit and they will reholder. Had same issue with 32-D quarter was actually S mark.

No way. Their contract is with the original submitter. Once s/he sells it, there are no legal rights attached (doctrine of 1st sale). If it's a typographic error their guarantee clearly says they will not cover it, that's all.
