You wont find a lot more of those, most of the rest that were in circulation got melted.

Not a common find at all. The design is very distinctive and mintage numbers are quite low compared with the overall population. Do you have an idea as to how many rolls you searched before finding your first George V? Great find!

I haven't been keeping count, but I've probably searched around 3,000 rolls, which equates to 60 boxes! I did the math on this, and the average for finding a George V cent seems to be 1 in every 150,000 searched. So not common at all!

They are quite uncommon in Canada also. I have searched ~67 boxes and have found 58 George V's. However, if I only count coins not found as an obvious dumped collection then the number drops to 6.

My best American find is a 1920 Wheat cent. These are all cool coins that have been in circulation for almost 100 years! |

I used to find an occasional George VI cent in rolls back in the 60s but never any earlier. I found an undated George V dime once in a roll. In southeastern MI we used to see a lot of Canadian coins up through 25c.
