Reported and message sent to seller

These are the clad Chinese knock offs as wilsonwu89 pointed out. They sell for $2.50 each! The obverse and reverse look nothing like a real silver eagle. This seller is making a killing on these fakes. With more than 40364 sales on ebay, you would have to think he knew these coins were not real. He sold all 31 he had listed. I wonder if anyone will get a notice from ebay that these are fake. Over the last week or so I haven't been getting any confirmations that they are even reading the reports of coins I've reported. Before that I got a message on each report. I wonder if they've just stopped removing listings for some reason. The seller has a 14-day return policy, but shipping the coins back to the UK cost about $6.50. Ben

When ebay pulls the listing, they will send messages to the buyers. They will be fully covered by buyer protection and since counterfeit, won't have to be returned.

I think ebay has no clue how to tell if a coin is fake or real. Just because I report the item doesn't mean I am correct so they leave it up. Just a side note,,,I posted a bunch of NGC graded ASE's up for auction last week. All 70 grade coins. They removed two of the auctions because I forgot to type in the certification number of the coin. Great pics...described correctly...all the others posted ok... ...and 31 fake ASE's get to sell AFTER being reported by more than one person Makes sense to me

who would buy these fake crap ? buy authentic ASE and if you can't tell the difference between that clad junk and PROOF ASE !! then you clearly need to do some more research into coin buying.

Wow, the maple leaf is really bad. Do people not look at what they are buying?

Auction is still up. Is Judith on vacation this week? Or is it that she can't block a UK listing?

Someone at ebay really dropped the ball on this. The seller sold 32 of these and 33 fake maple leafs. I phoned it in. Hopefully something will happen.

It's worse than I thought. They also sold 70 fake Engelhard 10 oz bars for $250 each. So far ebay has done nothing. The coins and bars were all made by Guangzhou Yikunze Trade Co., a known counterfeiter.

I realize I'm obsessing on this a bit, but ebay still hasn't done anything.
