I've never seen a straight clip myself but I think that it's rather odd in the last picture where the metal looks like it's climbing up the "slope" part. The "slope" part also looks rather steep to me.

From your pics it looks like it bulges slightly out of round.

here are some better pictures of the edge. I hope these help. I can't see how PMD could happen and leave the Cud like metal behind that you can see quite clearly. maybe not a straight clip but some other planchet error? as always, your input is valuable.

robmck1967...I don't know...It kind of looks like some one grabbed the edge with wide mouth pliers and squeezed and pulled at the same time..Just my opinion.

Thanks for posting extra pics, but I think it looks like PMD. IMO. Interesting pinch though.

It looks to me as if two small portions from each side have been sheared off.
However it may be a pinch type of mechanical interference.

Either way, I am almost 100% certain that it is Post Mint Damage, unfortunately.

robmck1967...I think what sel_69l is telling you is probably what happened...Maybe left over pieces of metal from the rim as it was squeezed..Dont think it is a Cud...ALL PMD
