Looks DDO so far to me. Last picture though has me puzzled though. First pic seems a north-south spread, but the last pic seems to show a north-east spread. Can you take the shot with different lighting? Interesting coin though. I'd like to see how this one shakes out.

Coop, there are other listing for 1958 DDO's but it states there are no examples. Could this be one of those like I have found and it needs to be sent in for attribution. Just wondering? I am far from an expert but I have so many that are not listed because there is no example.

The lighting is hard for me to determine what it is. From what I can see, I don't see hub doubling. The lighting is not over the coin and at an angle that doesn't help with the image. The date image is a lot better, but still not hub doubling from what I can see. Even the 1995 that shows the DDO looks drowned in red light. I can see two light sources on this coin that does not give light an shadow that a single light source should have for micro shots. (Light sources at 12:00 & 8:00)

Quote:THIS is what a 1958-P DDO looks like. No that is what the MAJOR 58-P DDO likes like. Quote:Could there be other less dramatic versions - possibly. But very unlikely. If any others were found over the past 56 years, I am sure the TPG's would have them listed. As of 2014, There has only been one version reported by NGC. Don't count on that, the TPG's usually only bother to list those varieties that they will certify or list on the label. These are usually the expensive ones. There are a LOT of doubled dies and other varieties that they don't list.

I am finding that out in a fast way and it is very frustrating. Thanks for your input. Deb

Oh lookie, even coppercoins only lists ONE other DDO variant after 50+ years and that one doesn't even consider the IGWT as part of the markers. CONECA lists only one, which they have marked as "Unconfirmed". TPG's typically will NOT certify a coin unless they have some documentation to back it up. The only TPG that seems to put their "coins" on the line is ANACS which will certify a non documented coin. I'd like to see some of these other "non-major" certified DDO's of 1958. Anyone Know of any? If the owner of the coin is so adamant about the validity of the find, pack the coin up, send it into a TPG service and show us the label when it comes back. I should only cost about $30.00 plus shipping and insurance to know for sure.

Thank you everybody. If ever try to certify this coin I'll have figure out how to do it without mailing it or forget about it, just keep it and enjoy it.

Just a normal coin. Thanks for the better image. Lighting can make or break what another person sees. Reflection off the inside rim can make it look like there is something there, but it is just reflected light. The last image was a great help.
