Ok, it's not dumb I take that back sorry! The nature of the post is a little silly; it could just be "ways to get free redbox rentals" or "ways to get free milk" or "ways to get free newspaper subscriptions" or "ways to get free twix bars" etc etc etc.

It literally has nothing to do with coins or crh'ing

I think the point illz was trying to make is that it's not FREE silver, you are still buying it from money you are saving but the point he is missing is milk and twix bars will be consumed and gone but the silver will add to your net worth a little at a time. Maybe the thread title should have been:
"Ways to add silver by maximizing your expendable income"

Thanks Blueszone for the alternative title! Send me your cell phone so I can consult with you before I start another topic in the future! ha ha You make me laugh.

You 2 are going to hate this one. I found another way to get free silver. I took my two boys to a Coin Show a couple of weeks back. A few coin vendors gave them some War Nickels...Wait for it... For FREE. Also they panned for gold, they walked away with a small nugget and 3 flakes.

Silver gained through crh'ing is in no way free, unless one walks to the bank.

I believe that the silver dimes I find have cost me double their value in silver, once I average in gasoline costs. I don't include my time, which on a good day is worth $75 an hour (union shop). But then again, it's just a hobby.

@fistfulladirt,True. I guess I used the word "free" a little too loosely. I didn't know how technical people would get. I should have substituted "cheap" for "free".

Yeah Mr. Click. I didn't take it technical. I think we all get the point. I also didn't think bringing this topic back up would have sparked this. But hey we got some more good idea's. lol

Or you could have said at Face Value. Really the only way you are going to get free silver with ZERO investment of time/gas/effort is for someone to just hand you silver. This does happen sometimes, but few and well far between.

Like a wise man once said its not the silver we like its the hunt, and the thrill when you open a roll, and its white as the driven snow.

this one might of been said already but if you have a metal detector you could take the money you find with it and cash it in for silver!

My brother and I run our dad's coin laundries and we can hear the silver when it moves. Though silver and burnt quarters and silver ones tend to sound the same, but you check never-the-less. You can tell when someone has gotten into someone's coin collection or someone's relative has passed and the kids/grand kids don't know what they got.

One time at a location we would go in every other week for a month and a half or 2 and would find between 18 and 30 silver quarters, happiest day of my life (just don't tell my wife...haha)

And it has been resurected again. Thats a nice find Heath.

Another way I just found was actually put on a silver platter and handed to me.
My bank apparently hired a survey company to manage a kind of seceret shopper survey. So the survey company reached out to me asking if I wanted to partake in the survey and they said they would pay me 5 dollars every survey.
Awesome. You can only do 3 surveys a month and they tell you which one of the branches to go to.

When its all said and done by the end of they year I should have about $90 I can spend on buying silver that was just given to me for doing what I love to do. CRH. I go in ask for my coins. Go home take a survey and tell them what I think they can improve on and thats that.

Best thing is I have made comments in the survey about not being able to order boxes of half dollars at my bank. I'm always told we cant do that or let me check then they never get back to me.

Well it looks like it paid off. I had someone from the bank reach out to me the other day to get more information on it. its a win win.

Another good way to get free silver is from getting it handed down to you my grandma found out I collected coins and gave me all her silver about 35 90 percent Kennedys 20 Washingtons and about 15 Roosevelts total of around 270 dollars all free

I save scrap copper (not pennies) like left over pipes from bath remodels to finding wire in the street, find it in the trash and what not, and when it builds up I take it to a scrap yard and then I go straight to my local coin dealer and buy silver, found money!
