Hopefully Drewto is just not another one-and-done passer-by looking for a dollar figure to get rich quick. There is so much more to the forum than that.

Welcome, either way. And I'd love to see a picture of that, along with the other posters.

There's nothing unusual about the reverse side.

While it is sometimes possible to debunk faked errors from scans, it is almost impossible for anyone to affirmatively confirm that an error is genuine from a scan. Examining a note like this requires the ability to touch it (and sometimes smell it) to verify it is a genuine error. And examine the back.

What you have is an interesting note but you need an expert to examine it in person.

That having been said, to answer your question, yes these have been seen before. Some were determined to be genuine errors, some were determined to be faked.

What really concerns me is that the treasury seal is still there. If this were a genuine error wouldn't that be missing as well?

That and the L12 on the left which is also in green ink. I don't see that vary in placement relating to the left serial number on these notes (I think) meaning they are printed at the same time. If one is missing, they should both be.

There is no embossing where the serial #s should be and it was examined by someone from PMG at a show in WPB several years ago. He could find no reason to believe it's been faked. It has the correct color ribbon under a blue light. I've never had it officially authenticated by a grading service because there are none near me and I don't want to mail it anywhere. It's just a curiosity that I got with a bunch of other hundred dollar bills from a bank in Palm Beach in 1996.

Send it in, the worst thing that would happen is that it comes back with a "details" grade. It may be worth a "pretty penny".

If you have an expert's opinion who's had it in hand, why are you asking random Internet people that have only a picture to go by?

As oih82w8 says, send it in for grading if you want an answer. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My initial question was an inquiry as to whether anyone had seen one. Having an expert look at it won't answer that.

I had a similar note, although the entire light green pass was missing for the most part.

Just the serial numbers missing? No.

Sorry about the "repeater and radar" notes, they were on the same scanner bed.
