MS-62, too much chatter to go higher. ICCS may have said AU-55 or Au-58 though, they put a lot of emphasis on the fields...

Still not seeing it. Native looks like he has popeye forearms but I can't see anything else.
Sorry I get it now. Coins and Canada has a good example.

The LOGS are there on my computer screen. Other markers for this particular CH REV.007 are that they are always Full water lines with satin finish rather than the usual blast chrome lustre look common to 1945- 1952 Silver dollar coins, and there are always two extra wavy lines in the field below the front third of the canoe and above the "R" in "DOLLAR". My experience since discovering the variety in a bag of 1950 silver dollars found on Vancouver Island in 1980, leads me to believe there is only a single die marriage ( one different reverse and one different obverse ). Possibly 4 to 7 thousand pieces would be a good guess based on a mintage of around 261,000 coins that year. Would love to see or hear from anyone who has seen a different die pairing or a brilliant finish example of this unusual die variety. Above coin is nice... MS 62 ? , appears the scratches are on the plastic of the certification holder.

AU-58 in my opinion, I look forward to seeing the grade.

Thanks Pacific for the info. I did check it and it does have the wavy lines you mention and I didn't know about that. I always like learning more about dollars and especially variety's. And yes the long scratch across the bottom is on the holder.

Yes...It definitely has a duller finish than my other 1950 FWL dollars.

The satin finish, when photographed, gives the illusion of wear sometimes...

I'll stick my neck out here, and say MS-64 or better.

The pictures don't show how nice a dollar it is. Possibly because a duller finish is harder to photograph. It's quite a nice dollar in hand. Congrats to dollarman for guessing the grade. Thanks for playing.

How much is this coin worth before ICCS ?,,..Now as in pic.above? This thread proves that pic's on a computer are hard to grade..

persistnt...I don't know what this coin would be worth. But I have noticed on ebay that TPG graded coins usually sell for substantially more than raw examples. I am currently in the process of having many of my coins ICCS certified. About 90 per cent of my collection are coins I purchased over 30 years ago, before TPG grading. I included this dollar with one of my shipments to ICCS just because of it's grade and variety and it's the only example of this variety I own. I'm trying to put together a collection of silver dollars and would like them all to be ICCS certified.
