I am posting on ebay NOW

I hope you are listing it with full disclosure of what the experts have told you and not as a doubled die.

Didn't OcalaFlorida call it a "That has Class V pivoted hub doubling. the pivot point is at the date so there would be little doubling on it" meaning a hub double die? if not what is it?

Would be a double struck cent or is it that the hub is actually doubled?

I wait would wait for a expert to chime in I am not one.... a 5 month newbie here...

no double die just have classes based on type of how the doubling occurred you can find info on most error coin reference sites or reading threads here using the search function.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubled_die

they can be rotated, distorted, design, offset, pivoted, distended, modified or titled

Class 1, Rotated
A class I doubled die results when the die receives an additional hubbing that is misaligned in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.
Class 2, Distorted
A class 2 doubled die results when the hub's design moves toward the rim between hubbings.
Class 3, Design
A class 3 doubled die results when a hub bearing a different design stamps a die bearing another design.
Class 4, Offset
A class 4 doubled die results when the die receives an additional hubbing that is misaligned in an offset direction.
Class 5, Pivoted
A class 5 doubled die results when the die receives an additional hubbing that was misaligned via rotation with a pivot point near the rim.
Class 6, Distended
A class 6 doubled die results when the die receives an additional hubbing from a hub that was distended.
Class 7, Modified
A class 7 doubled die results when the hub is modified between the die's hubbings (e.g., a design element was chiseled off).
Class 8, Tilted
A class 8 doubled die results when a die and/or hub is tilted during a hubbing.

I am confused. I think Ocalaflorida did say it was a DD. It is obviously unlisted if it is, and I would not sell it until you get it looked at by someone that lists them. I looked up Class V Hub Doubling and it sure appears to be considered a true doubled die from what I read (although they are the most common). Please correct me if I am wrong. http://error-ref.com/doubled-dies.html

Well I have it up as a "Double Die?" with that question mark to display me being not sure what the error actually and foe them to make best judgment. I will let the bidders determine the error, good Idea. I don't want to mislead any of my buyers. Thanks Ocalaflordai

Grading is not what I would do at this point. There are people that list these, John Wexler is one guy http://www.doubleddie.com/402401.html

The Coppercoins website is another, http://www.coppercoins.com/attribution.php (This site is not currenly accepting submissions though)

Variety Vista is another site that has attribution services. http://www.varietyvista.com/Attribu...Services.htm

Don't let me get your hopes up for a lot of money. If you already pulled the listing that is fine but you should use your own judgement for that. I really have no opinion on the value or if it is actually a Doubled Die because I do not search for or study them on a regular basis.

If you really want to spend the money on getting it graded I would use Anacs and ask for them to find the variety for you. If they think it is a new unlisted DDO, I am pretty sure they can get it listed and attribute it on the holder for you. Like I said though, I would not get it graded until you know it's true value.

This a great Idea 7TF. I will contact Andrew Franklin at Anacs and this started. I am excited. I never found a New variety yet.

You will probably have to just send the coin in and fill out the submission form saying you want the variety research (which costs a little extra) I have never spoken with Andrew Franklin, although I have spoken with the attributer at Anacs John Roberts. He is the guy that looks over the varieties and makes the call as to what they are.

Those other links I gave you are to well respected coin attributers that actually make the listings in books. So, they would be who I would contact first, mainly because that will only cost you $4-$6 plus shipping. Grading will cost you $40 or more with postage included.

It shows some promise, especially the W of WE, which displays the kind of furrows that you'd expect of a true doubled die. On the other hand, many of the other letters look more like Die Deterioration Doubling, like the E of WE and the first T of TRUST. You should send it to someone more qualified than me for a determination. Fellows like James Wiles, Chuck Daughtrey, Bob Piazza, John Wexler, Jason Cuvelier, and BJ Neff can provide this service.

Holy cow are you humble! You do realize you are an E.F. Hutton CCFer.

With that said, I would follow Mike's advice to the letter and I wish you luck with this one.

First off, thank you all for your replies. Second, I sent these images to Coin World Editor Department and they called me today and said that they will get back to me next week on an update. Apparently there are a few varieties out there however, This variety he didn't recognize, so that's good news so far, will see.
