Your coin looks just fine, I wouldn't be worried.

AMB, please post a photo of the edge of the coin that is on the opposite side from edge picture #2.
You have a coin that looks like it's from Potosi, Bolivia and I would like to know if the edge design was made from two parallel dies. ~jack

This helps yes, it confirms your coin was edged the proper way (you wan see an overlap at the opposite) Everything looks OK to me :)

Looks legit to me. A proper weight will back up legitimacy real well.

I do not like dentils at the edge which does not mean a bad 8 reales. Also too many different overlaps. Potosi ceca (mint) also was a little bit special/different comparing with Mexico or Lima. Probably weight is around 26,8 gr. Could you confirm?

Cool coin. I hope to one day complete the type set. Currently I have an 18th century Mexico City 1/2 & 1.

26,8 gr. it is the weight I was waiting for Quote: I do not like dentils at the edge which does not mean a bad 8 reales. Also too many different overlaps. Probably royal/real but ...
