I'd want to see it in hand given its apparently in Egypt, but if it was good, I'd pay $550 (going to have to pay import taxes and duties or I'd pay more) on that coin. On ebay you might get $600-$650.

Well... they're wrong.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...cgs&_sacat=0

That's the current ebay listings. Note the following listing in particular; CAC approved, PCGS 66 for under $1k. And that's a high price for a 66.

Sorry but I don't understand what you are saying. Graduated? You mean graded?

If you mean "Do you think PCGS graded my 1883-CC Morgan dollar?", Yes. It's in an old PCGS "rattler" slab.

Thanks a lot chasing.. ,) your observation was approx the same with another member of heritage auctions, here it is :

Thank you for your inquiry. The 1883-Cc graded 66 is worth about $700 retail.

The dime ewith no date and the 1799 $1 are copies with no value. Most of the other dollars are worth about $20-$25 each.

Sincerely,
Mark Feld

I am sure Chasingtailbar is.

Dear Numistamist :)

I tested the coins with magnet I found out that 7 are fake and even lighter than the right ones

Magnets are a quick and easy way to pull out most fakes.

Mark Feld is a very well respected individual in the Coin World. Ran his own company for a while, but I guess Heritage pays him more than he would make on his own. He's a valuable resource to Heritage, and I'm glad to see that he agreed with my conclusions.

We're all numismatists here, no matter how much or how little we know... as long as you have a passion for coins and make an effort to educate yourself while you collect, you're a numismatist in my book.
