While I don't see an obvious D, I'm not so quick to dismiss it as not being one because of the rim damage above STATES.
The surfaces do strike me the wrong way, though.

AU50 details. The surfaces look polished, or ex-jewelry. I believe the weak d story, as I have seen many weak d's in slabs that have no visible d from pictures. Definitely needs to be sent in. Great find!

I think the surfaces might just be the lighting used but not sure. I will take some regular pics tonight to see if that helps too thx and keep opinions coming please. As for D mintmark I can just make out first part of it with loupe. Also yes the wore rim, scallop marks on top above E S and O are there and dash marks above area with UNITED all characteristics of real 11 D.

Online ebay purchase and yes I was nervous waiting for coin to arrive just going off pics. Couldn't have done it without finding post on here and other references online |

Sorry for prob not best pic it's with my iphone but here it is with my $2.50 1925. Obviously not the luster that the 1925 has but hoping shows color if that helps on deciding grade from pics  |

I would get that slabbed ASAP, so if it comes back with disappointing results you may have a chance to return.

So about year later update. Finally decided to take to coin shop and have them submit to NGC and just got off phone with shop owner who told me its on way back to him looks like and NGC gave it weak d au details improperly cleaned! I am happy with that for sure!
