A nice set of finds.

There is no need to say goodbye just because you quit hunting. You can stall hang out and enjoy the reports. For what it is worth, I quit back when Clinton was still in the White House.

@Necer149, thank you so much! That's a good start with a 1926. You'll break into the teens (1909-1919) soon.

@bpoc1, thanks! I found the 43 steelie in a coin counter reject slot at one of my dump banks. I was extremely happy.

@Danhelmick98, thank you. Once you're almost halfway through completing a Wheat cent set from CRH, things start to slow down a lot.

@matttheriley, I tried nickel hunting once, all I got was a 1951 Jefferson. And I'll be called wheatchaser140 for life!

@jbuck, thanks for the compliments! I was planning on occasionally visiting the CRH forum and commenting if I see a really impressive find. I just thought, I started roll hunting during the Obama administration and stopped during it too! What presidency did you start CRHing during. Don't worry, you won't date yourself, your signature beat you to it!

wheatchaser140 you could send your finding to jbuck so he can safeguard it for you and then you could continue searching.

jbuck will keep it safe and will not incorporate them into his stuff.

Why not switch to another denomination for awhile to keep things interesting?

The great majority of my CRH finds date themselves to the Carter and Reagan years. LWCs were way more common back then and finding old D and S pennies were about as common as finding 30s/early 40s LWCs now. Current CRHing produces the occasional nice find ( IHC or VDB), but to your point, lots of common LWCs with few upgrades.

Regarding CRHing, I'm happy I've gotten into searching for error and variety coins. With error and variety coins, inspection of a bag or box becomes equally, if not more so, interesting. So perhaps CRHing isn't out of the question if you adjust your focus a bit?

Nonetheless, an impressive effort to gather the coins you have over the short and more recent period! I appreciate those that attempt the impossible by building their collections from the wild. Not to take anything away from those that purchase coins, but a real sense of accomplishment comes from the dirty fingers and the strained eyes. Tomatoes from your garden always seem to taste a little better than the ones from the store - or so it seems.

So see you around CCF and the CRH forums. Enjoy the finds of your fellow enthusiasts!!

I`m going through a big dry period here as well. When I was searching dimes and couldn`t get large amounts of rolls like I wanted anymore, I had to switch denominations and I did great! I went to nickels but errors and varieties are just as exciting to do! I too remember being new and reading one of your posts to my reply's. I'll miss your posts. I hope too see you back soon. Although I started collecting during the Carter administration, I did not start CRH until Bush 41 was in office. In the early years I relied on my parents' wine coin jug.

Swell collection Whatchaser! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't envious. Look at it this way, no more black fingers!

I wonder if you'll miss the smell. You know what I'm talking about.

Thanks for posting the photo of your collection, wheatchaser! It's a fantastic achievement!

I am really envious of you guys in the USA - here the oldest coins in circulation are dated 1971.
