That is one nice coin. I agree some coins know how to drive me up the wall as far as photographing them. (and they are usually my best ones)

Looks to be in the Almost Uncirculated (AU) range.

Gosh, I hate to even say this and I'm probably wrong, but does anyone think it's been cleaned?

Well that's unfortunate that it's been cleaned, I didn't pick up on that. We all make mistakes though, curious what makes you think its been cleaned? I would like to know more about how to spot things like this.

Notice how the fields are much lighter. And on your first reverse image, notice how the wreath at 1 o'clock is much lighter than at 3 o'clock

Ahh makes sense, I figured the fields being lighter was just a product of the toning, now I know what to watch for in the future. I still feel like I got an ok deal, I got it for XF-45 price. At the time I thought I was super lucky, now it seems that I probably just did ok. Thanks for the help.

If you look at the fields with a loop, you might see scratch lines. It could have been an old cleaning, but I still believe it has been cleaned at one time.

What I saw in the first reverse image were the 2 areas above and below ONE DIME that looked rubbed. Hard to find a coin 100-200 years old that hasn't been cleaned at some point. A nice coin.

I'm undecided about surface originality. Seated stuff does enigmatic and occasionally glorious things with toning, behavior one doesn't seem to see in any other series. Whatever it is, I like this one a whole_bunch but wouldn't hazard a guess between AU-MS without it in hand. Too small to be sure from images without really high-res work.

I see what you mean edweather, I see those two spots as well, I really can't tell for myself whether it's cleaned or not, and frankly because I never intend to sell it I don't care too much. As to whether it's MS or AU it's hard for me to tell as well, the only thing is maybe I can see a tiny bit of wear on Liberty's head, so I'm not really sure either.

A tough one to grade from these grainy photos. Not sure the coin has been cleaned, the toning in the photos with the good lighting looks natural. I'd guess AU-58 on this one.

Looks AU to me. Can't really tell about cleaning from pictures. I would need to see the coin in person.

Tough call. AU-58 for wear. No comment on the surfaces, I'm in the undecided camp.
