I would call it a VF-30 because of what I would call the unattractive toning.

I'm also in the VF-35 crowd because of the toning issue.

Another question I have has to do with the existence or not of added resale value being that a slab has 'Stacks...' labeled on it.

I already know that 'a good sales price for any coin is the highest amount one can sell a coin for...'

Let's assume for this example that the NGC coin of this thread sells for $ 400 without having 'Stacks' on it and the same PCGS coin sells for $ 480 also without displaying 'Stacks' on it.

Then, both the NGC and PCGS slabs are marked with 'Stacks'.

Would the addition of 'Stacks' add an additional 10% on average, for example, to BOTH the $ 400 and $ 480 resulting in the same net 10%-increased resale price of $ 480 and $ 528 respectively?

In summary, I just would like to get an idea if one should anticipate both PCGS & NGC equally increasing at the same % rate the extra premium realized because of the addition of the word 'Stacks' on the slab.

Pedigree certainly can add market value in some cases. In this instance it's hard to imagine much added value from a Stack's label however. The coin should stand on its own merits and this coin will.

Only issue is the rim ding; my eye is immediately drawn to it.

Really? Personally I think the coin is above average in eye appeal. There are a lot of really ugly Seated dollars out there and this isn't one. To me the darker surfaces denote that the coin hasn't been 'improved' over time and that the surfaces are fairly original.
