I can assure you this is magnetic (hard to show) and has neither the RCM logo nor the P composition mark.

You're right! I mis-read the title of this post.

Yes, this is the rare 2006 (and one I really wish I had also), and from what I understand it's worth $50 or more. Congratulation!

I have never had any of my coins graded, how much does this cost usually and does it add to the overall value of the coin. I have found several of these and was considering selling a couple. So is it better to get them graded first before attempting to sell or sell without grading. I have also thought about keeping them for awhile as the CND mint tries its best to destroy our penny.

Thanks gidjit for the info. Was the one you sold on ebay graded or not. I have found about 8 of these and none of the 2006P in searching over 600,000 pennies. I have found people selling the 2006P in sets as well, but was hoping to find one CRH but no luck yet.

Wow that is a fantastic return on a 1 cent penny search, congrats! Are you still getting CND pennies to hunt through where you reside?

I paid $42 for one of these in high grade on ebay earlier this year. It included postage and GST.
I don't think grading a coin makes it more valuable per se - an MS63, graded or not, is still an MS63.
What it does for me as a buyer though, is gives me more confidence that it really is an MS63 although the grading company could be wrong. Some random guy grading his own coin is more likely to be wrong and more likely to inflate the condition of his own coin. With an expensive coin I may only want to buy from a third party graded coin if I trust the grading company.

I hit up my banks before Christmas and got about 90$ worth and I still have to go through around 30$. I won't do a bank run until after the new year now. The banks have less and less every visit.

Thanks punman good advice, you are right if I was buying online I would feel better buying a graded coin as a third party opinion. There is a coin show here locally end of Jan. and I'm going to look for a 2006P single penny if I can find one at a good price.

By the way, the penny I bought was not third party graded, I am just saying on a high priced item I would want graded. For me high priced is not $42. For me it would be $250 plus. Everyone has his or her own idea of "high priced".
