ok so whatever this was (even if it was a turkey sandwich) $9000 sounds a bit over the top. Even if it was mentioned in an article.

Way over priced! I think he would be lucky if someone offered him more than a hundred bucks for it.

yes I agree I would sell it for 20 to 30 dollars if there was not an article about it, 100 for the article and the frame...

Very nice presentation piece. Unfortunately, the cost of framing that coin and newspaper clipping, probably cost more than the value of the error itself. Strike-through errors on 25-cent coins, that affect less than 25% of the coins surface, just don't command any serious value to an error collector.

This, is the difference between a serious strike-through error and a small strike-through error.

Anyone else notice it hasn't sold yet? For that price he'll have to will it to his grand kids before getting a 10th of what is being asked.

Neither of the coins posted are die caps. Die caps look very different.

yes not a die cap what so ever, and has nothing to do with a die cap.

I like the idea of having a collection of coins that have been published in a magazine or catalog. But I doubt the 5 minutes of fame for this error is worth the extra $8879.
