I'm sure you know, and I see why you'd exclude it (different box), but the 2010 Blue Whale coin and stamp was actually the 9th in the series.

Thanks CC
I did not know that was part of the set. It is not even listed
in Coins of Canada but I have seen them for sale on ebay.
Guess I'll have to buy another set.
I did pick up a set of the "Moose" for $80.00 including shipping so I guess I did alright on that.
CA want about $160.00 for the same set.

Yeah I guess a lot of their $99.95 sets have appreciated to $160 in the past 10 plus years. lol

CC&C have the 2010 set at $5 over issue price but I suspect you can find it elsewhere for less.

But what is "final mintage" for this set?
Might be it the lowest one?

In local PO I saw the "Whale" for 70 (or 79)

Nope. It's not driven by lower mintage and it's not the first in the series.

The price is likely driven by higher demand.

Some of them, 2005-2006, repeat the design of 1oz coin from the Platinum Fractional sets from 90-x.

The Walrus is my favorite. Probably because it not common for Canadian NCLT.

I have the Deer and Fawn, it is a very nice design. Got it on sale.
Low mintage. Low demand. It is usually the beginning of the series
that is most popular.

It could be that the Majestic Moose carries the highest premium, because it was the first coin/stamp set of the Wildlife series (issued December, 2003)...
... followed by the Great Grizzly coin/stamp set (issued in January, 2004).

My apologies. allspice is correct that the Moose was the 1st which certainly adds to the value.

Thanks for all your input guys.
I just ordered the Whale Set from ebay for $10.00 under list.
This will now complete my set of 9.

Ah. It was the first in the series. That explains it.
