Good luck with that...The banks have been picked clean around here for a hundred miles. My dealer said that the Dealer that buys from him is from Detroit and he bought 100,000 dollars of rolls. Seems it netted the Dealer somewhere around 4,000 double edge and almost 1,000 plain edge dollars- Pretty good investment if you got 100,000 dollars laying around ! I guess maybe some small bank somewhere near S.E MI might have some rolls from that particular batch left, but I doubt it. Always fun to search though.
I went to a bank in Monroe , MI one Saturday in June I think because I was at my local B&M and the place was going nuts with people coming in and selling their double edge and smooth errors and I figured why not take a chance. I was only able to get them from one bank , the otheres either did not have them or would not give them because I was not a customer (GRRRRRRRR ) But I did manage to get 4 rolls and went back to the B& M .I did not look at them initially, I went about my day at the shop and went home....but when I got home I was Pleasantly suprised with 25 double edge dollars and 1 plain edge dollar. Once in a lifetime for a collector I guess !

That coin is clearly sanded down, and a bad job at sanding if you ask me.

Clearly it was sanded down. Unbelievable. The buyer left the seller POSITIVE FEEDBACK! Some people have more money than brains.

Anybody know how to message someone on e-bay if you have no transaction ? I tried to mail the buyer to tell them to get the coin authenticated but I was blocked because I have no dealings with that person. This seller has sold three of them so far, and from the pics they all look sanded.

I have PM someone without dealing with them (to warn them about the loser they bought an item from) click on the persons name, then on the left side of the page click contact member. Don't forget to put in the security code or it will not work.

I tried that, I went to the buyers page from the feedback page of the seller and hit contact user, typed my message, entered the code and it said I could not mail the person because I did not have a current transaction with them.

Hum that is weird, I just did it last week to warn someone to really check the DDO they ordered because the guy tried a bait and switch with me.

I will try again when I get a minute and see what happens, thanks for the info, maybe I did something wrong...dunno
Tried again, no luck. Buyer has no items for sale so I cannot get to them that way...I really hate to see someone get ripped off like that and I want to know if they are going to have it authenticated. How ironic...it says on that page...E-bay provides public information from your feedback file to encourage open communication among all it's members... Open communication huh

It doesn't only look sanded down....it IS sanded down, no question about it. Whomever is selling that is out to deceive the buyer.

I agree with the sanded down. Save the picture and lighten it, its obvious. As for the person who made the statement about the 100 k of Adams. I can tell you that I know of one company and one individual that went thru that many Adams. I can not tell you for certain the amount the company found, and yes I know who they are, but I can tell you for a fact that those numbers were NOT found by the second party. About 100k searched, 2000 doubles and 100 smoothies found.
