Thanks masterofsecrets. The Caribou quarters are among my most favorite coins. I know its a personal choice, but can a complete collection be mixed with BU and PL coins? Mint roll fresh coins look great when you can find them. PL coins from the uncirculated sets looks fantastic.

I think it's all about personal preference and how much you want to spend. I'd love to have all PL coins and I think it would look amazing! But, for me, there are higher priorities to spend my limited income on. :(

I like to collect them all, I CRH about 300$ a month and route through as much pocket change as I can. I don't collect for a set album, just the best quality I can find and the varieties/errors. I also go to shops and shows looking for deals on Proof, PL and Specimen singles because I like the eye appeal of the different finishes. I have snagged full unopened rolls of 1812 and arctic/whale quarters from banks. I have unopened rolls of olympics from a connection at the post office. I of course love to find silver but haven't found one in over a year CRH.

My quarters are a mixture of proof, specimen, proof like, and business strikes. In fact, all my sets are like that. Cents, nickels, dimes, 50 cents, dollars and two dollars are all a mish mash of different strikes

timni44 worded it right for me. It's a mish mash of coins branched off the Caribou quarter base. The only mandate I have is my set has to have a Caribou if minted that year regardless of it being a test token or rare strike.

So far I'm just keeping the nicest one of each year and type I find in circulation. I haven't found a NCLT quarter yet, but I'm hoping to.

I have a bag of business strikes from circulation, anything nice I put into 2x2. If I find any silver straight to the album, I have found proof silver coins in circulation before. I don't focus on rolls but have accumulated a good number of Mountie Quarters, Coloured Coins, now keeping all 1968's and 69's, 70's. I have no idea why, maybe future archeologists will find them. If I see a commemorative quarter, I put it in my back pocket.

Denny7000 really nice cat.

Thanks Silverdon and Shafta9a, I got 20 of those bobcats all the same condition in a collection of 1967 commemoratives from a friend who put them away and no longer wanted to hang onto them. I got pennies, nickels, quarters, halves and dollars from 1967. All tucked into the safety deposit box, around 100 silver coins in all.

Silverdon did you get that 2011 silver proof in circulation?

Yes my wife brought that one home from her change. New it right away, did the magnet check, rings like a bell.

MS-63, it was an anniversary gift from my wife, the obverse is my avatar, there are multiple die cracks.

I bought this ICCS SP-67 2011 Specimen Strike Quarter

Is there a dansco or some sort of folder that is completely safe for coins? I have never used them...

Was looking at that 2011 Caribou Specimen ICCS SP-67 coin with the loupe and noticed the really sparkly frosted fields beads and legends. The linen texture to the field is also neat. I took some shots with the macro lens and they came out nice.
