Just in case the value of the coin might affect your decision to try dipping or not - this is not an inexpensive item - it is currently for sale on ma-shops for 1500 euros = US$2,193.61.

I do not know first-hand what the effects of 'dipping' in acetone would be as I have no experience of it. As the coin is, it seems to be quite good so it depends on the risk factors as this is a very nice coin.

That coin has earned it's skin. I do not see anything on it that appears that it would continue to damage the surfaces so why mess with it. Leave her be.

There is a slight fingerprint but I wouldn't dip it. I quite like the way its toned.

I think this coin has beautiful eye appeal to me so anything but acetone (like e-Zest or other products that can ruin the coin if not done properly) I would have to say absolutely not

Don't dip it in ANYTHING.

The coin looks great as it is.

If you do not like it as it is.....I will have it....lol

I'm worried that the fingerprint on the obverse will eventually become more noticeable. I'd do a 30 second acetone dip, but nothing more.

I bought 2 coins I knew to be cleaned
now I am sorry

I can't sell them and they are too valuable to give as gifts.

If they would have been left alone
they would have been fine.

Isn't coming up for me either, but I think the forum is glitching right now?
Everything seems to be running a little slowly...

Sorry my bad. I linked to the seller's picture and it appears that the seller took down his picture.
He must have sold it. It was a beauty. I want to own a Gothic crown like that someday.
