I do believe I see an outline . I don't know its so smooth I suppose it could be a major Greaser. I have to rule out capped die I don't think that is what it is but wait for an expert . question is , is a mint error or PMD. DId you weigh it I'm curious?

I It he more I look at it I am not sure I see an outline either. I almost want to rule out capped die too. I just thought the ghost image reminded me of one. But I'm no pro, so I wait for one.

I suppose if you won't miss the five bucks then its a gamble. I say roll the dice and buy it.. Or just wait for an answer.

Is it thicker than other nickels? Does it weigh the same as other nickels?

I'm concerned because it doesn't have a rim, which means the obverse could have been worn away by something. Shouldn't it have a rim regardless of what errors we think it is?

Yea sounds like it was shaved /cut/sanded/something that takes away material. No worries though I wish school was only $5 a lesson. Think of all the info we get for given to us. Speaking of that next time I get extra cash I need to donate some.

I grind and sand coins down in order to engrave on them and this coin looks like that. A bit more sanding and the bust outline would be gone
