I really, really like that dollar date set. It is something I want to tackle one day.

Myself, I prefer to keep my sets intact. I am not an upgrader, so that affects my opinion.

Leave that dollar date set alone! Work on the new album, it is your latest challenge. Pulling coins from the date set would be cheating.

True though!

I'm with most of the posters: Leave the intact album alone and start with the next one!!

Again .. Thank you all for posting.

I like the opinions that have been posted.

For now I will be keeping the Date set intact. If anything
upgrade some of the coins and move the lower grades
to the two album/complete set.

I would keep the dollar-date set intact and pursue the full set as time and money allow. Who knows, a few years from now you could have that close if not complete.

Do have a question for you, at the top of the table in one of your photos ... you have what appears to be a Dansco album that you've purposed for storing coins in flips. Is that your own doing or does Dansco sell without the pages?

I sure have a lot of coins in flips and might want to put some year by year sets together and have a way to store outside a 3 ring binder.

The album you pointed out is what Dansco calls a dealer stock.
I bought mine at Wizard coin supply. They come with 8 pages.

Which is about right for larger coins. You can add pages.
I would suggest buying extra pages.

If your taking coinsin and out of the album, the pages seem to split
if your not careful.

I have a few of these. One I put a set of satin coins from cent to Sac.
Worked out very nice.

Excellent choice and great idea.

Looking forward to see how you progress.

GR58,

Thanks for the response. I didn't know they offered such an album and quite honestly, wasn't sharp enough to consider how it could be done with a pageless Dansco if creative enough to do so.

Might be what I'm looking for as I have numerous Dansco albums and like their product.

Glad I could help.

Sometime I think I collect Dansco albums more than coins.

I like using these stock books and their currency albums.

I even put one of these pages in back of my Canada type
album, so I could add other Canadian coins I wanted in
the set.

In the past, I have used them to hold coins I was getting for certain
sets. Once I got most of the coins, I would purchase the regular
album needed for that set.

I guess I like Dansco too ... I have around 50 albums.
Even picked up a Dansco folder yesterday, for Australia cents.

Nothing wrong with that, especially since you albums are full of nice coins.

I agree with the seemingly unanimous idea to keep the date set together and put circulated coins in the other. As far as danscos go... I love them as well. Something about having the coins next to each other on a labeled page is very satisfying to me. The uniformity of my collection being in danscos that can be put on a shelf together to make an attractive display is just the icing on the cake.
