CoinHuntingDrew,
I really don't use anything special. I use a D-70 or D-100 (antiques by today's standards) and I shoot through a Swift Stereo Eighty from the late 1970s. All antique junk! LOL. I shoot my macros through my D-100 mounted on a copy stand. I stack +2 and a +4 enlargement filters on the standard 28-80 mm lens that came with the camera for macros. I paid $50.10 for one of my scopes (cost me 10c to repair it as it was not working when purchased needing a washer) and I paid about $600 for my first one that I now keep as a back-up to take to shows. I paid $100 for the D-100 ($500 more than I paid for the D-70 in 2006). There is better equipment out there and lots of folks that shoot better images than I do but what I have is good enough for me. Still, I may have to bite the bullet and spend some money as I get so many woodpeckers (my favorites as I get all four species native to Michigan and they are beautiful) and all kind of other birds outside my sliding glass door in the kitchen that I'd like to get some good shots. Especially of the pesky Hawk that keeps ripping me off for Doves. I saw a Robin today big enough to eat!

Ok guys (and maybe some gals) I guess you can figure out I set this all up for what was to follow. So now lets get clean. How about a little "mud" on your face or in your eye?

Nice coins, Koinpro. I appreciate your sharing them. Because of this thread, I recognized a very nice clash a few minutes ago. I've seen it before, and spent it, thinking it was damage. I will be posting it soon.

Mr. Buffalo, I think a visit to the doc and some antibiotics would take care of that.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

If there were such a word Eagle Eye, maybe our school systems could once again compete with the rest of the world.
