Personally, I think a person has to pursue an answer to be sure, one way or the other. Glad there are fellow enthusiasts willing to share time/equipment/expertise to steepen the learning curve and arrive at answers.

SPP-Ottawa sent me my nickel back along with a bonus coin. 2002 quarter with a couple strike throughs and doubling..there also seems to be a weird dot in the E of ER..Cool  Thanks again SPP.

pennyman want to see my 5 cent coin struck with copper contamination? Mine has kinda special twist. Is struck on 10 cent planchet. Total weight is 2.5 not 2.1. That much copper.

Maybe this one is remotely close.  45 min in acetone did nothing.. I made darn sure this time. I've never been to sure what to think of this one. Its magnetic but the center of the queens face where all the crud is isn't. 2006-P

I forgot but here's another one I have. This one's also had an acetone bath, its magnetic. I found these quite some time ago and put them in a tray and forgot about them. Again not to sure whats going on here.

That is cool nickelsguy! I actually like the missing copper on both sides because it helps tell the story. Just don't lose any more :)
