I don't see why it would be a details coin.

One of the experts on the forum once mentioned that circulated coins don't tone like that. Which was news to me at the time.

The surfaces of a freshly cleaned coin tend to be very reactive to oxidation, that is why colorful but usually splotchy and mottled toning can develop on a circulated coin.

Agree with biokemist6 - this seems to apply here.

Darn. That's what I was thinking too but still very beautiful with the tequila sunset look. It was in a littelton album known for toning coins wild colors

Ef40. Toned on one side - is common in shotgun OBW roll end coins, yours on both sides - is either cleaning or album toned. I have a nice OBW end toner I will post this week if someone wants a look. Not worth $60 to slab an EF mercury that might come back in a bag.

XF details, cleaned and air has given it the toning. Essentially unnatural toning.

The obverse blue spot at about 11 o'clock is interesting. Is that unnatural toning or is it blue wax? Interesting.

It's worth spot as it sits. (124) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed app says that'd be $1.13
