That bison looks fake. Also, nowhere in the ad does it state real silver or .999, so that's your second warning. Always check feedback. He sold a copy to another unsuspecting victim.
This seller is located in Israel, so the Chinese aren't the only ones deceiving with fakes.
I strongly agree that we should buy only from reputable dealers in Canada. What a shame that it's come to this.

no way to buy bullion (specially) from somewhere and for low price. Israel similar to US and Canada is very multy-cultural. People there came from different communities all over the world and have contacts everywhere....so even not surprising, that someone got "cheap coins" and want to make money on it.

Here is another one. Not surprising coming from this seller. Doesn't even say they are silver plated. Note similarities in pictures to other sellers. 262011652017

So many fakes on ebay but one cannot list pre-Castro Cuba coins (at least using the word Cuba)

Quote: Doesn't even say they are silver plated. For the price he is selling, they could be made of plastic. And weight "near 31gr" mentioned by these kind of sellers doesn't say much.

Wonder where the crack RCM legal teams doing? As usual nothing on this issues, but creating license fee with Warners, and DC, to produce nonthemed Canadian coins.

So what's the point of introducing new security features and counterfeit detecting machines? Seems like a waste of money and time!

Similar to the software licensing or video / audio content copyright (every time new activation / protection algorithms developed).....do people ever think to buy this stuff or prefer to get it for cheap or for free?

The "new" security features wont be secure forever, its man made ,so it can and will be duplicated at some point if the desire is strong enough, that said, this bison coin is very poorly done even to the naked eye , but I guess it still can fool some people.

If $5 coins (silver or not) are selling on ebay for $2.75US and free shipping, it's only a matter of time until counterfeiting of the X for X coins also becomes prevalent considering the denomination has risen to $200.00. I agree counterfeiters will eventually beat our newly designed banknotes but RCM continues to churn out so much NCLT that the typical cashier or bank teller can't be expected to be familiar with the multitude of NCLT that get issued and it's not legal business tender but it's right on the line because if it's stated face value. I'd bet what we're seeing here is not only sellers who hope to hook naive buyers, but also a source where buyers knowingly purchase fakes with the intention of ripping other people off. Thanks Bobby, for being a go-between with ebay! Has anyone with close connections to RCM ever presented examples of this issue directly to them?

ugh my stomach churned reading this thread. Glad you got your money back and that the community has their eyeballs out for fakes and listings that are worded in a tricky manner. Its bad enough that buying silver bullion coins is costly venture seeing that gold and silver are in down trends. Even worse being conned out of money for a fake as someone said, buy only from reputable dealers if you must buy any silver or gold.
