also I have seen my fair share of bubbles most of which have more then 1 spot on the coin

Looks like a die gouge. Note how it flows behind the EPU. Looks raised, so it may have been scratched into the field of the die. (fields are the outer part of the die. devices are sunk into the die) Thanks for the extra image.
