I'm not sure what it is but I have to agree with Coop about it being struck though. The shape of it matches the radius of another cent

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought Coop was commenting on the second coin.
The second one looks like it was struck through something, I agree with that.

On the first coin it looks like Lincoln's head upside down underneath the stairs..thats why I mentioned clashed both sides..

It may apply to both. It look the struck through may have fallen off. Not a lot of interest in these. Just nice to know what caused it though.

I can agree with the clash event happening, but my gut feeling on the other anomaly is that the substance is clear glue.

He said is was incuse. I've never seen glue eat into a coin before.

It could be glue that had a small wore or something stuck on it. The photos are inconclusive. I agree, the op should soak that puppy in acetone for a while and report back

Sorry about the delay. No acetone readily available so some angled shots will have to do. It's definitely a depression.

This is not a clash, it is a struck through error.

Coop, you had once written in one of your graphics, "On a struck through the devices under the anomaly are completely removed..." And that seems to make sense because of there was a wire or something there on the strike, it would have blocked metal flowing into the letters there in EPU.

Can you clarify that, please? Thanks.
