You know it! Hey dave, if you had to hazard a guess what do you think it would go for in say a Heritage Auction? I'm thinking $500+ but that awesome and thick "solar" toning puts it in such a different class I don't know how to properly evaluate an estimate for my books. I still haven't signed up for the ssdc yet. I think we need to make that our new year's resolutions lol

And I must say, the colors photograph better and are much more true to the in hand look in the slab for some strange reason. The op pics are somewhat flat and lifeless compared to in hand while the slabbed pics are more trie being deep and rich with more color play

Glad you like the results on this one. It is a very attractive coin for a 21-S. Usually those tone ugly, and this is anything but. I agree with your need to join the SSDC, but then I'm a little biased. We do offer a scholarship to the ANA Summer Seminar, open to SSDC members, assuming the ANA schedules the Morgan dollar class again this year.

One just sold for around $225 that was listed on VW BSTA and moved to ebay for no reserve auction. It was a PCGS 64. Yours does have nice color though, which is not always easy to find on a 1921 from any mint. Nice find indeed.

Thanks twodg's. The big orange question in the room now is how much the color will add to it but I'll never know until I sell which I don't predict being anytime soon

Yeah I love that toned 1B6! You don't see that date toned often, nor thornheads. Even though it is a more common variety within that series, it is still tough to find especially in that grade and with color. What a (color)blind pick!
If things work out for me in the coming week or two I will have an awesome new discovery coin that I will change my avatar to ;)

Thanks guys "Color-blind cherrypick"... I like it, but animals are the colorblind ones so that's firmly in squirrel territory
