I do not see any wear on the cheek, the hair, the tops of the wings, the breast, nor elsewhere; I still think this is a MS63 at worst. Dave might make a fool of me yet, though.

Does it have signs of an old post-vault dip to remove toning in hand dave? How's the luster?

It does not have any of the usual tell-tale signs of being "messed with" and the lustre is decent on the obverse and very nice on the reverse to the tune of semi-PL. I hope the coin is as good as the label indicates but I have no where near the money invested in it so even high AU is a win. I'll reveal the grade this evening.

Well this one is tuff with those pictures then. I want to say slider going with low ms on the label. Is it attributed? I could be wrong though

Struck a bit flat, no obvious signs of wear, Dave said luster is good (pictures don't really show it well) so I'll join the crowd and go with MS-64

I went with AU-58 due to the number and type of rim nicks and the gray area on the neck, hair curl, eagle's breast feathers and field marks and abrasions. Usually a break in surface luster is indicative of a coin being circulated. It will be interesting to see what the TPG gave this one.

Holy smokes. I was spot on at low ms on the label. I hope it stays that way lol. That was a tuff one dave! Can I ask why are you not going for label attribution? Do tpgs look at morgans with better vams differently than if they didn't realize?

I'll send it to VSS for the attribution if I end up wanting it labeled as such. I'm thinking your last statement may have substance.
