Yes as the coin has a deep relief. Non porous and looks fresh and sharp. It would be really testing to find a comparable nother. Most %95 of em have bigger problems of sorts.

Nice coin, good surfaces and sharp details. Interesting how the the rim bruises are mostly evident on the reverse.

Germanics---- These coins are fat and heavy-- This one must have been dropped from a high part of a cliff long ago or ect. Coins get dinged in the most crazy ways--blame gravity". all I know is that if this coin did not have the dings --how many pennies would buy a perfect one without the rim dents ?

732amran, you've done yourself proud. A great addition to your collection and a great investment. Have you had it scoped with an XRF? Get that puppy a pedigree, one that is more important than a TPG opinion. You rock!

Here's a question for the troops. Could this have been struck on a defective planchet rather the PMD?

a couple areas stand out as strange. one on the obverse would be at 3 o'clock at the rim. there seems to be build up of material near the rim without a rim hit. the same thing at 6 o'clock. the rim is not indented but there is a buildup of material under the 1 in the date. on the reverse between STATES and OF the same thing is occurring. I'm just trying to figure something out about how this occurred and whether it was there before striking. I'm having a hard time believing that someone beat this with hammer or slammed it on the ground multiple times to get this affect without destroying a lot of the higher setting devices across the faces of the coin. a pic of the rims from a side view may provide more information.

O but it is indented---. I did put the rev coin manually in this one shot. I have a few other large cents with big rim damage --the nature of the dents are natural looking to me. When a dent on impact with the ground--these heavy coins don't bend--they concave or form a lump --copper is soft. In person its almost not noticeable.

Germanics---------- Coin has a so wide edge that it makes for lots of room for a clear one sided beating--till it stopped. Poor coin -it really hurt !

I wonder if it's ex-jewelry and we're seeing solder and damage from prying it out of some kind of bezel. Just my immediate thought.

That sure is sloppy work Kbbpll if that's the case--. Can u explain why that would be your immediate thought in a bit more detail ? What should I look out for ect ?

There seems to be a very symmetrical indentation on the obv rim between L and E that is centered above the date, so that made me think the coin was centered in something. The blobs on the reverse look like solder to me. So then I thought, maybe the rim damage is from trying to pry it out of something. That's about the extent of my thought process; I don't really know anything about what to look for.

This is in a PCGS holder as rim damage. Hmmm whatever it is --the tips of the grips in the holder do show --I did crudely photo crop it in a way--just a note. But coin seems very nice over all and most wreaths have so many different issues and problems. I'm just not paying a premium $32K and not $15K ether or even $7K. Coin has a lot of clear nice detail as EFDet Non porous for the most part a strong strike nice color. There are VG dets coins that are pricing $5K. I think with so much detail like it shows in a holder it was a good deal.
