How much does he charge, and how do you get ahold of him?

ebay usually has a very large listing of carved coins, and skulls are pretty common. There is a facebook group for the Original Hobo Nickel Society (OHNS), that is frequented by most of the modern carvers where you can find out who is selling what and for how much, and you can often commission carvings from the various carvers.

Very cool. That'd be a fun one to put in a blank Dansco hole.

I like this... they sort of have a 'hobo nickel' appeal to them...

Pretty cool Ike!
This page shows several carved Lincoln cents: http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/C...20Cents.html
I think people collect them the way some people collect wooden nickels. They aren't mint made but they are still collectable.

Never knew my fifteen minutes would include a hashtag.

I actually like it. I would only wince if I had to watch it being made. Sort of like eating meat.

I'm pretty sure NGC and PCGS would body bag these. ANACS might slab them with a graffiti label.

Tweak- I traded him $200 cash and 10 common circulated silver dollars (6 Peace, 4 Morgan) for the skull Ikes. By trading I basically got two for the price of one. His Ike skull dollars sell for between $300-400 regularly. I was very pleased that he was willing to trade. John is an excellent dude, and we're not done dealing by a long shot. Have you also seen my skull Buffalo nickels? John did those too. I paid $12 for each silver dollar, so the total purchase price for me was $320.
