I'm going through the 50's looking for Cud and varieties. This is what I've found so far.

On the back of a 1955.

Notice the last "s" in states and the right wheat grain.

One has a Cud on the 5. And the other has a Cud on the left wheat stock.

Well I recd my new box of unsearched unopened bank rolls. Went through 5 rolls and all were mediocre . The only bright spot is I'm finding a lot more d's and s mint marks. It only takes one good coin. Let's hope.

I'll have more time tomorrow to go through and post pictures

I only just found this thread. Nice finds!

When I was younger, every Christmas my grandfather would bring me a canvas bag full of wheats. I spent so many hours searching through them, and found a few better dates- a 1909-S (cleaned ), 1924-D (also cleaned), 1926-S and 1913-S. I sold the more common ones, but when I looked around at a coin show to sell the 1909-S, no dealer was willing to pay more than $55 for it, so I decided just to keep it. Come to think of it, I ought to look through all those again for varieties.

That was exciting- it's been a few years, though. It's probably a VF details coin, and pretty ugly.

Sorry. Haven't had time to update on the second box finds in detail. Been real busy searching through the Eisenhowers. Hopefully soon though.

I agree with the people saying that wheat backs are always searched. They are so easy to spot and some can be worth a decent amount. What seller wouldn't take the time to separate them by years?
