Hi folks,
I did a check of the listed 1993 DEOs and they all seemed to have the wavy steps with the EPU trails. But I suspect that the EPU could be affected without impacting the steps. BJ may be able to confirm our suspicions or perhaps set us on a different...trail.

You can only edit your original post for up to 24 hours. Otherwise, you need to post your pictures in a new post in this thread.

Edward, Those last three pics are new of the original coin? The dots look distorted and I see no trails. OcalaFlorida, Are your pics of Eds coin? Dot's look distorted as well but there is glare on all the pics making it hard for me to tell for sure. John1

I see no trails and the dots appear round in some images and elongated in others. Could be the ones that appear elongated are due to shadows or glare. This coin is just covered with tiny plating blisters, thousands of them and I think it adds to the confusion.

The last three photos are from the original coin. I will try and get clear images for you all soon.
What about the font on the R & B they look distorted. The R from the top slants down and the U's are slim on one side and thick and or normal size on the other side. This is a wierd coin that has me stumped.

I don't think that if it is anything, it is really anything. It is way too hard to see to actually be worth something. But it would be nice to know. I keep the minors too. It's really hard to make out if there is anything though on this particular coin.

I see split plating above the EPU. Not hub doubling.

Thanks for the reply coop. I seen the split plating as well, however the font on the R/ U's and M's is my curruoiusity of cause.

Looking at other examples from that year, I does look different in shape. The only explanation I can think of is a partial Grease Fill. If other devices around this device look affected, then that maybe the case. If the mint worker used a cloth to wiped down the die then it may be just a bit of grease worked it way into those devices. The field looks disturbed in that area and may have some debris on the die in the field.
