I thought it was a straight clip when I firsr saw, but it is a curved clip, of a larger radius than the coin.
The difference in radius makes me curious, - any one else know why?

Toward the bottom of the page there is an explanation. Basically the pressure of the strike can alter the shape.

What a happy accident! Unfortunately I've searched & researched my tubes of wheaties to no avail. I've a bucket of '59-'82 LMC's I'm saving for a rainy day. Hopefully I'll have better luck with those.
(Maybe I can rub your clipped wheatie for luck)

I have a bunch of wheaties.... I don't know what to do with them so I began a wheat preservation program. Lol. I put all my wheaties in 2x2's and then put them in plastic sheets by year and then in binders lol. It's a stupidly expensive project. Awesome find. :)
