Ah! A plastic shield -- even so the wood could have caused it to change color.
Also, I agree re: "Keep looking." I don't make a point of it but I do stop in at our local Goodwill if I'm in the area. I've found silver pitchers and stuff that I didn't particularly want -- but they make great donations at white elephant auctions. When you can buy stuff like that for less than $2 -- why not?

Great Eye! I was at a Goodwill last year and found a brand new Willie Nelson book for $1. When I got it home I found that it was signed on the title page, as well as in the back of the book. So I kept it in new condition and read the kindle version instead. Sometimes you find good stuff there.

Nice! As a fellow goodwill silver hunter, I'm impressed. Havent found .999 just sterling silver. Though lately ive been finding a lot of wiegthed stuff I have to strip, but for $1 here $2 there every little bit helps. Best find was a big sterling platter I found for 3 bucks.

Awesome, all we've found are a few silver plated items, but we keep looking. My bro-in-law found a sterling silver platter upstate.
