srs77, that logic really only holds if you just buy one coin. If you go on and buy maybe 3-4 coins, and they each charge a few bucks in shipping, then you are now paying more in shipping than you would to go to a coin store most likely.

To answer the above question, no that's not what he did. It came priority with tracking. In a bubble mailer well wrapped. This particular seller did a phenomenal job on the packaging of the coin.

I wondered if he'd even honor the selling price of six cents. But, to his credit he did.

To the individual who said I paid more than six cents, well you're correct but that would be true of any coin I purchase whether from ebay or a coin show or my local dealer. There are costs associated with every purchase.

If you read my original post I stated a six cent auction win. Not delivered price. I actually gave this seller a 5 star rating on shipping costs because of how he decided to send it. I mail loads of coins out and his cost was right in line for what he did to get the package to me. Nothing but kudos to him.

Now, to those who's opinion is that I spent too much for it, that's why I asked the question so I have no issues with your opinions, it's what I asked for and I truly appreciate your thoughts.

My photos didn't do the coin justice. There is loads of luster on this coin, particular on the reverse but even on the obverse as well. This isn't a high dollar coin, but rather I thought just a bargain at six cents for a coin not in my collection.

thanks to all for your thoughts and opinions, it's why I am on this site everyday!

I think you're responding to the wrong individual here but I'll play along. You are correct in your statement above, but I did just buy one coin. To determine a fair shipping price you must see how the individual shipped the coin. Read my previous post to see.

You may want to consider posing this above question in this other thread:
('Main Coin Forum'- http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...ORUM_ID=127)

with a link back to this thread: (How'd I do for a $.06 ebay Auction Win? - https://goccf.com/t/248467) to avoid hijacking this thread etc...

'The Main Coin Forum' is actually the designated thread for miscellaneous issues of which cleaning is included as subject matter. It's the second entry/title under the 'General Numismatic Discussion Forums' section about 1/3 of a page down from the top.

I think most of us would like to see the responses.

Buff nickel matte proofs were struck from 1913 through 1916. After being suspended for 20 years Buff nickel proofs resumed in 1936 with satins.

ebay can have some real deals .....

As for this nickel YOU DID GOOD but upside of coin is very limited due to stain ....

If you can remove the stain then you'll have a KILLER DEAL, try acetone and be sure to rinse coin with water from tap and then some distilled water for final rinse ..... Pat lightly with microfiber towel and let air dry before storage!

I wouldn't have personally, seeing that shipping cost. If it was free shipping, sure.

Just my opinion, but I always factor shipping into any deal I make.

Wow, that's a true deal. In some foreign coin auctions I've done well but that's probably the best I've seen.
