im sorry I forgot to respond to this it turned out to be some crud on the E of one cent from an 1859 that looked from the pictures to be a long serif I was thinking that it may have been a repunch or engraving slip becuase it looked so wellplaced

 .......I'm fumbled , I mean humbled! When I get back from my UK buying trip I will have a nice little batch of 1859 varieties for the Bay. One highlight is a Stem to Leaf 8 reverse , with 50 per cent Red. Not Landon type stuff but some pretty nice LC s coming in a couple of weeks.
