Thanks very much. This one has some rainbow toning starting where the dark part is on the obverse. Hard to see in pics. I'm not the greatest photographer. It does pass magnet test, did that before I bought it from pawnshop.

Thanks for all the replies.
How can you tell someone cleaned it? Don't disagree, just want to know what to look for next time.
I have a 1921d that has close to same luster and details. I wonder if that one has been cleaned.

nice solid AU with a light mechanical cleaning that's beginning to Retone. Congratulations on your first Morgan.

It's a decent first buy, but basically it's the kind of thing you would find in a pick-em box on a dealer's counter. Don't buy many of these - they are just bullion coins.

Good to know Coinfrog, thanks.
Kind of hard to find these here in Montana. I live about 150 miles from nearest coin dealer and he got a very poor selection.
Could use a good online source. Have been on ebay....but have hard time buying coins this old from private sellers w/o seeing it in person 1st.
I found this one in a pawn shop and talked the guy down to $20(he wanted $30)so it didn't hurt too bad.

To CCF, great folks with an unlimited source of information. Check out IndianGoldEagles coins, the link is below his post. He has some great coins and a great source for information.

I would be guessing Ef 40-45 - but think it would get details or cleaned. Regardless, it's a nice coin, can't do wrong with a Morgan. It's like a 57 Chevy!
