Daniel Carr makes "restrikes" of coins never minted but this is just a Peace dollar someone has altered the date on.

His work is "perfect" and this coin is worn out.

Daniel Carr makes (made) several "fantasy" pieces for collectors. I put fantasy in quotation marks because what he does is take a genuine Peace dollar and strike over the old date and mint mark and put in place a new date/ mint make, this being 1964 D (since 1964 D Peace dollars WERE minted but all destroyed). Carr has also made many other over strikes, such as 1908 Wheat cent, 1970 Ike dollar, etc.

The date looks like a 1st grader made it. 100% not a Carr coin or genuine, a very bad counterfeit.

It has the look of a cast Chinese fantasy coin. It can't be a counterfeit as all Denver minted 1964 Peace dollars were destroyed. (right all of you DC fans?)

Horrible fake ... run away.

I do note that Daniel Carr has asked the OP for permission to use his/her images on his website ... I politely suggest that request be granted for educational purposes.

I saw a good 64d fake at long beach. The dealer said he found it on ebay. The dealer had some carr's and even a legit, slabbed 64d peace. I looked at the raw one and told him it's too light and the D was way too south for a carr. Not to mention the strike quality was no where near Dan's quality. He weighed it and it was under at around 23g. He said he's talked to dan before but I wasn't getting the vibe he knew him too well. I told him to email dan with pics as I knew dan would want to see it and put it on his carr counterfits page.

I hope he did shoot you a message dan. He was about to send it to anacs until I pointed out its flaws
