Of course, if you live close to the Canadian border, you can go to the bank and try to get a box. I understand it moght be problematical, because they like to sel" 'boxes" to businesses, not individuals. Your next best bet would be to get some one to swap with you, roll-for-roll, and each one "eat" the S&H on each end. You get your coins at face. Dick

Does the SF or NSF pertain to Canadian Pennies dated 1961 and 1962 or just to 1953?

Jim, there were NSF/SF varieties for 53, 54, and 55. The '55 NSF is the real rarity. As far as I know, everything after '55 was SF.

im gonna post this here, mostly because I dont want to start a topic.. and since we're talking about cents... I justg found my first pointed 5 for the 85 variety, and I'm on my way to the closest (500 km's) shop to hunt for the 47 ML BL 7 and also for " 48 between" and the "49 points" hopfully I find something worth taking home at a decent price

Snaz, is it possible to find the '49ATs in bulk collections up there, or have they been all picked out? Congrats on finding the pointed 5, and good luck!

well, I just got bac. I pulled a 47 ML blunt 7 from his junk bin.. I dont think he new it was there... :) and I grabbed a 1953 shoulder fold for 15 bucks.. Id say F 12.. He's pretty stiff with prices, I know, but it was one of the few I needed.. so I was willing to pay.. I tried to get him lower.. I also picked up a 1927 Merc dime and 2 morgans ( my first 2) a 21 in.. XF - AU and a 1900 in F- VF.. I over payed for most of it I'd say.. but I mean.. Its the only shop around so.. beggers cant be choosers I guess.. and no.. theres not much of a chance pulling one of those out of bulk kurt, well not that I've seen.. And I just recently finished 300 dollars in cents from the bank.. and no 49 AT's but I tell you what, I sure was surprised when I found like... 600 AU cents from the late 60's 70's and early 80's..LOL ebay here I come :)

Hmm...I didn't know the '53 SF goes for that in F-12! I found one of those in a bag of coins I got for face.

A 1953 SF lists for $15.00 in MS 60. In EF 40 is $4.00 (Charlton's)

When you get your 50 posts you can buy and sell on the forums here. I would stay away from a dealer that blatently takes advantage like that.

Paul--wow! Those look fresh from the mint! Best I can say I've found a half-dozen pennies around MS60 RB from '41-45 in an old cache. Oh, yeah...there were 8 '49ATs in there too.
