His story was that he just moved money from his paypal account to his checking account, and will have to move it back again, and he claimed he doesn't have his bank account connected to ebay because it got hacked 9 months ago. Sounds a little strange to me now that I think about it. Anyway, it was worth a shot, and he seemed really friendly and on the up & up. How long does it take to transfer money to a paypal account? Am I being impatient?

No you're not being impatient. Sounds like a load of horse manure to me. Just move on.

Ed, You must be jinxed or something. If it's not USPS messing you up it's a dead beat buyer. Take a hand full of circulated wheat cents in your right hand and toss them over your left shoulder. This should break the seller's curse...

I have not had the same experience, but usually if a guy is a seller he wouldn't risk a negative feedback over getting your pennies off the market. It doesn't seem worth it. One thing I have found to be true-- the truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. A weird excuse and a hacked account wouldn't make me suspicious in and of itself. Good luck and be careful. ebay can be dangerous if you are not careful.

Quote: if a guy is a seller he wouldn't risk a negative feedback over getting your pennies off the market. That's a good point. Of course I'd never consider doing that.

Never take a listing off the market ed. In a case like this tell the guy thanks for the offer and if they are still available when you are ready to pay then the offer will be accepted. Rule 1: Keep things simple and never chase a sale

I figured 2-4 days was a reasonable amount of time to wait. How many times do you see sellers that are will to wait 7 days for payment.....quite a lot, so I figured this was no big step. Actually the dude messaged me back and said he would pay today for sure, and he thanked me for the reminder.....we shall see I like your Quote: thanks for the offer and if they are still available when you are ready to pay then the offer will be accepted. That's exactly what I'll say if he doesn't pay.

If he doesn't pay today then he's jacking you around and forget about him. I'm saying to use that line in the future if this situation arises again. Never take a listing down for a promise to pay, never never never... unless it's a friend or highly trusted buyer you have done alot of past business with... never

Oh yeah, if he didn't pay today it was over, but.... the guy paid my fortunes are changing. Dave, I didn't Quote: Take a hand full of circulated wheat cents in your right hand and toss them over your left shoulder. This should break the seller's curse... A simple exorcism of the evil spirit did the trick, bye bye

Good to know - I was starting to worry. I have a friend who has occasional "It sucks to be me days", but you were well up into the MONTHS!

Well, it hasn't really been months. I talk about the problems, but overall have been doing well selling Quote: Remember that 90s movie "Pure Luck" where Martin short is a clutz with extreemly bad luck Haven't seen the movie, but I'd hate to think of myself as a klutz. I'm very well coordinated, not accident prone, and kinda used to things working out well. So, when I started increasing my ebay sales, maybe wasn't prepared for the range of people encountered. Totally awesome to totally looney toons The skin is thickening and my heart only skips one beat now, when I see a return has been requested, rather than a heart attack Was actually hoping I wouldn't sell any coins this weekend, so I could regroup a bit, but dang it, 3 coins sold
