If you're only going to put 19 coins ($9.50) per roll at least make one of them silver so I can profit too.
One is all it takes and I would take that deal all day.

I got some penny rolls once at our local bank and when I opened them, each roll had about 45 pennies and the rest were buttons and one roll had a small pebble. Well the bank here makes you put your name and account number on the paper, so I took them back and asked for a credit and got it, but more importantly they contacted the guy who brought them the rolls in the first place. You'd think living in a two bank town you'd know better then to try and ripoff the bank.

Tony, getting shorted on rolls is lousy I agree. But whining to the bank is the last thing a regular roll hunter wants to do, as it's the fastest way to get cur off. Can't begin to count the times I've been shorted over the years. Best to just eat the loss.

The cent's I've been getting in machine wrapped rolls, and the dimes that only had 46 in the roll.

I agree. It is one of the risks one takes. Hopefully the rewards more than make up for it.

I once got a dime roll with only 43 dimes... I usually don't buy boxes so this doesn't happen to me often. Just happened the teller and I BOTH weren't paying attention and inspecting the rolls that morning. Probably a lack of caffeine is at fault.

In contrast, I had Three Cent rolls with dimes in them yesterday, one of which also had 5 extra cent coins. Had another roll with 56 cents... I also had a MWR of nickels which was 4 cents short - had a cent instead of a nickel. I came out like 50 cents ahead when all was said and done. :)

to the people who are about to deposit a 1938s nickel.... please do it, and do it as often as you can. I still need to find one of your deposits.

To all the nice people dumping all the silver half dollars I have been finding... THANK YOU!!
Its all part of the game we play. Sometimes we lose out and get cut short and sometimes we have $10 bucks extra in coins.

The shorted rolls do not just affect CRH. I am thinking of the poor cashiers who get them and how it affects their meager pay through no fault of their own.

Kind of pitiful really, that someone wants to cheat for 1, 5 or 10 cents.

I can understand a miscount from time to time, but a lot of those are not miscounts.

Why do people put dimes in penny rolls? I experienced it quite often as well when I used to go through pennies!

Good question. Often, the dimes I find in cent rolls are ugly - dark in color, for example. I presume that older people with poor eyesight might be part of the problem.

To all you rollers who put American coins in Canadian rolls, thank you, you have given me a great collection of American coins at less than face value.

45 pennies and the rest were buttons

Be happy a button is worth more than a cent these days.

I always assume that it was probably just a mistake.
