I have another one that looks similar but This coin is unique, the patina reminds me of cleaned up roman coins, I need help on this one because I don't know what it is and the value.
The person I bought it from said that it was purchased from a coin store 20 years ago.

It's an old fake. There were no genuine coins that looked like this one. Here is a sampling of what genuine knife coins should look like:

Also try Scott Semans and Frank Robinson. They have good stuff for reasonable prices.

You can still shop on ebay. If you are unsure of authenticity, post it on the forum and we will help you before you waste money buying a fake. I have bought many ancient Chinese coins off of ebay.

Those are all Qing Dynasty fakes. You can tell by how thick and lifeless the characters are. Also, the patina looks very fake on all of them.

Since Bobby locked the other thread, I'll answer your questions here.

The new pictures make the coin look much more genuine. I'm inclined to think it is authentic, but I would seek the opinions of other experts (Bob Reis, Scott Semans, Frank Robinson, etc.). Also try posting it to http://www.zeno.ru . There are many experts on that forum that might be able to determine the authenticity.

Seems reputable:

I can't find the auction listing itself to see what other Chinese coins they have sold. Would you mind letting me know how much you paid for it?

I bought it off ebay paid $200 I really hope I did not get ripped off the only reason I paid the price was Because the seller said that ars was his shop and he also said that he is honest, this ebay store is still up and the returns was accepted.
Anyway this coin is thinner than most types.

My concern is that the coin was swapped between the Ars auction and the ebay auction because $200 is a killer price for that coin. I found their Vcoins store, and, based on the prices they charge for their Chinese coins, they would not have let it sold for too much less than the going rate, which is $2000-8000. If the price went down to $200, then someone lost a major amount of money. I can't find a picture to confirm that it is the same coin.

I want you to understand that I treat all coins of this rarity and value with this level of suspicion. The Chinese have been making Counterfeits of this coin for well over 100 years, and sometimes it is very hard to tell the difference between a good coin and a bad coin. Comparing to pictures of known genuine coins makes me notice that the characters are a bit thicker than should be expected. I just don't know enough to make a solid determination.

This has a patina similar to your coin. I am leaning towards fake.
