Common, indeed, notice how the word inherited automatically becomes a link that thread.

Not sure if you have kids or plan on having kids, but this might be a great gift for one or two of them. IF you don't need money right now, just put those away somewhere for the future and kids, if any.

Whatever you do, go slow. When in doubt, pause. Eventually you know what you have by doing a little research, and then you will know where/how to sell it. This forum will pretty much be able to answer any question, or point you in the right direction.

Kids are grown and don't care. They would just sell them. No grandkids. We would rather use the money for something we would enjoy.

I know a coin dealer in East Texas who I have always found to have integrity. I've dealt with him for more than 6 years. Let me know if you want his contact information.

If you're in no big rush, find a coin club there in New Orleans and attend a couple of meetings. Talk with the other collectors, and see if some of them are ebay dealers. You may be able to get good photos taken of your coins and put them on ebay yourself, or consign them, as an alternative to a sale at a coin shop.

Somewhat off topic to the OP but I keep a list of all my coins and their approximate current value and update it quarterly. Lose coins are in numbered holders slabbed are in by serial number. So if my collection is inherited they know what it is
