I've been on that site several times and could never figure out how to pre-order the coins before they're released. They are probably only selling to dealers.
It's pretty annoying.

They are already sold out( and they haven't been issued yet). The problem for US buyers is that The Vienna mint no longer sells to American private buyers. I have heard rumors that suspected fraud is behind this.

I'm not worried. APMEX will have them. They had them last year. I over-paid because I jumped on the chance to get them as soon as I saw them for sale. The price dropped by $50 )or more) over a period of several months. So, I recommend patience. I don't know if I would believe anything about fraud. I think it's more a matter of the mint wanting to be sure that they sell them all so they get the dealers to commit to buying. Once they ship, I would expect prices around $150 or more. That will eventually drop to $90.

I hope I have the strength to wait through the initial high prices.

Quote: I hope I have the strength to wait through the initial high prices. I received my example this week( It sat at the bank for over a week). It is a nice coin but looking at the secondary market I think there is now some market tiredness with this issue( it started in 2003). Last year the prices jumped 50-60Euro after the issue day. This year people are really resisting prices of Euro 10.00 higher than the issue price. Here is a low resolution shot of my example:

Nice coin. I agree, I think that the high premium right after the release of last year's coin was a deterrent. Time to go shopping!

Just ordered from APMEX for about $75 each. Not too bad. Plus free shipping because I got two.

Got them today. They look a lot nicer in hand than the photos.

Agreed. Very sharp looking coin. I'll have to order from APMEX again in the future...ordered Friday, and in hand Monday. Very rapid shipping.

That's just wrong. I would think the cost of shipping them to the US would have made ours more expensive -- or maybe some import tax -- or something.
