Ok perfect. When you add the new photos, I'll probably recommend to the mods to move your thread over to the ancient coins thread. Those dudes are wicked smart.

It almost looks like a copy.

The so-called shekel of Tyre, with the Punic god Melkart on the obverse there. These are much copied (faked), but we'd need better, close-up pics and the reverse to offer some informed opinions.

Well, that is why I thought it was a fake. Ancient coins usually don't have the same design on both sides!

Haha yeah. A long day of remodeling a house will do that to ya. I didn't even notice until I scrolled back up. I'll get some better pictures in the next few days though.

Looking forward to seeing a clearer pic of the reverse. Looks like gamma-N for the date on the reverse, which I believe means 74/3 BC if it's legit. Pretty valuable if it's good...these Tyrian shekels are pricey given the Biblical connection.

When you take better pictures try and take a picture of the edge also. From a distance it appears it might be genuine, but we are going to need better picture to say for sure.

Compare with this:-

Hendin F918.6, which he lists as a fake Shekel of Tyre in his "Not Kosher".

I've got one that looks identical to this. It forms part of a set of reproductions of ancient coins that I was given in the late 1960s when I'd just started collecting.

The edge shows a casting seam, which is the best sign of a cast fake you can hope to find.

The line alone the edge which can clearly been seen here is a sure sign that the coin is a fake.
