Yes, unortunately, nothing can be determined without pictures of both sides of the coin. There are several things that can happen to a coin that imitates the looks of a doubled die. While a 1968 Philadelphia struck doubled die is not catalogued, it doesn't mean that none exist. It's just very unlikely. An estimate for a genuine example can't be given because there is no history of sales, auctions, etc. to base anything on. If you have any questions about posting pics: Tutorials Budmann420!

to the forum! What you are describing usually brings around one or two dollars on ebay. Most collectors don't want them, as they are doubling caused from the strike, not the die. Here is a link to a similar coin that recently sold: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-D-STRI...047675.l2557

I've looked at variety vista for JFK halves, but I cannot attest to their accuracy in cents. Here's what coppercoins has for 1968. They're my primary resource for cents. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...pe=do&page=0

First things first, this is a forum for help. If you don't post pictures, we can't help you. 1968 has no major (only minor) doubled dies on the obverse and any would be at most worth $10. Your coin will more likely be machine doubled (damaged in the press) and worth one cent. We're here to help you, if you will allow us to. But......

Id say that for a year like 1969, 1/4 of the value comes from rarity, and 3/4 of the value comes from condition... Condition cannot be determined without a picture.

If you are not going to post a picture here, your other option is to visit a local coin shop and get their opinion on the coin. One coin shop is listed in your town, or you may have to take a trip and visit a shop in Huntsville.

We need to have closeup images of where you are seeing doubling.

I think I can see some Mechanical Doubling on the profile and some on the date as well. If that is what I am seeing, notice how it is on both sides of the devices? If it were caused from doubling on a die, it would be in the same direction. Also, it would be raised and rounded more, not flat and shelf like.
